In 2006 the road known as 1372 Big Thompson Canyon (Idlewild is located at mile marker 13.72) was renamed to Idlewild Lane by community vote. ⧉

Date: June 21, 2006; Dear Property Owner(s), This letter is being sent to you as a courtesy to inform you that your request to reserve the road name indicated below as a potential replacement for your existing road name (also indicated below) has been approved. Please note that this is not notification of a change of road name or site address. You existing road name is Unnamed 194. The reserved road name is IDLEWILD LANE. The majority (>50%) of affected property owners along the existing road name provided signatures indicating agreement with the reserved road name and the choice of road names has been identified as compliant with the Larimer County Road Naming and Addressing System Resolution (http://www.larimer.org/streets/). The road name will remain reserve for your use only. Please do not make any change in address until such time you receive official notification from me. This notification will take place at a later time once the road name and number assignments are approved by the United States Postal Service. ⧉
