Handwritten note by Elizabeth Dauth reads "Front Room of Cabin" ⧉
The stone sitting on the fireplace mantel, located at center, was carved to have the appearance of a face. This stone was built into every revision of the hearth, and can still be found in the hearth today. The foreground table is the only piece of furniture from this photo that has survived to the present day.
